The Imago Professional Facilitator Training Program

Register Here

 Dates: Oct 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and Nov 5

Weekly- Every Thursday 1-4 pm EST

The power of a group is enormous, and change often happens deeper and faster than it will in a one-to-one context. Additionally, the family is the place where the Imago is formed, thus the Imago processes can be particularly meaningful to families. In this module, Imago Facilitators will be asked to explore the leadership role in various types of small groups such as workshops, support groups, skill building groups, culture shifting groups, intensives and the family group. You will explore the many factors at play when working with family dynamics such as generational levels, birth order, and family expectations. Participants will learn to build a group from the ground up with contracts for group members entering and exiting the group as well as how to facilitate each meeting. You will also learn to navigate Imago group processes such as the Development Circle, Group as Expert, Commuologue and family dialogues like the Parent Dialogue and Child-Parent Dialogue. This module is perfect for facilitators looking to expand their leadership skills to small groups and family facilitation.

Learning objectives:

Participants will...

  1. Establish a clear group contract for entering and exiting your groups.
  2. Facilitate an Imago based group / family session using Imago processes such as Development Circle, Group as Expert, Communologue, Parent Dialogue and Child-Parent dialogue.
  3. Demonstrate leadership competency with small groups and families by teaching the Intentional Dialogue with clear instruction, and then facilitating the dialogue with 2+ group members, practicing bridging between each member.

Fundamentals of Imago Facilitation presents some basic concepts of relational competence, including presence, safety and connection. Participants learn and practice the elements of the Imago Dialogue process and how to apply these in various settings with others who are not familiar with this amazingly effective way of communicating. An understanding of basic human developmental needs and areas of functioning guides the Facilitator in their way of being. A clear model of current and desired functioning helps Facilitators conceptualize issues that clients may present with and to help them move towards new possibilities. Relational ethics and working with diversity are also addressed. Available on-line.

This course can be taken as a stand-alone learning experience, or as part of the larger Certification Course.
