There are many situations where Imago facilitators can be highly effective in helping people in conflictual situations or with people who just need to learn to communicate well. This module expands the facilitator’s skills in holding two people in safety in ways that increase empathic understanding out of which new possibilities can arise.

About the Course

The course runs from 15 August to 19 September 2023, with sessions taking place from 1 pm to 4 pm Eastern Time. It's designed to provide an intensive yet rewarding learning experience.

The course is presented by esteemed international faculty members Kobus van der Merwe (South Africa), Wendy Palmer (USA), and Sonali Sadequee (USA). Their vast experience and diverse perspectives combine to create a world-class training experience.

  • Facilitate dialogues that foster safety, connection, and consciousness
  • Help individuals own their shadows rather than projecting them
  • Manage the tension of differences as a creative resource for transformation

2. Practice initiating dialogues in invited and non-invited situations

3. Work through the steps of a first and second Imago Facilitation session with two people

4. Explore how the Four Journeys apply to dyads and how to deepen the dialogue with the Minimizer and Maximizer

5. Discover ways to increase ownership with clients

Kobus is a faculty member at the Imago International Training institute as well as a clinical professor at Daybreak University  in Los Angeles, CA. Kobus has extensive experience with individual therapy, couples therapy, imago couples therapy and workshops, and conflict resolution. He is also a tech wizard!

Fundamentals of Imago Facilitation presents some basic concepts of relational competence, including presence, safety and connection. Participants learn and practice the elements of the Imago Dialogue process and how to apply these in various settings with others who are not familiar with this amazingly effective way of communicating. An understanding of basic human developmental needs and areas of functioning guides the Facilitator in their way of being. A clear model of current and desired functioning helps Facilitators conceptualize issues that clients may present with and to help them move towards new possibilities. Relational ethics and working with diversity are also addressed. Available on-line.

 

This course can be taken as a stand-alone learning experience, or as part of the larger Certification Course.
